The distillery itself was founded in 1815 and has had a rocky history, the 80s and 90s saw the distillery suffer closings and shockingly limited periods of distillations of small batches which were intended for blends. On the nose the Ardbeg Corryvreckan Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky, it leads with dry peat smoke, with some buttery, sweet vanilla and mint leave aromas. The palate is sweet with a light smoke, sea salt, touches lemon cake, and a hint of smoked bacon. The finish has layers of toffee, smoke and cinnamon. Share your knowledge of this product.
