It was founded in 1888 by Andres Brugal Montaner and has now become an institution in the Dominican Republic. The Brugal Especial Extra Dry White Rum is produced using a double-distillation technique which makes a clean and dry rum containing fewer heavy alcohols which tend to provide other rums with a sweet flavour profile.
