It is produced by the Kilbeggan Distilling company at the Cooley Distillery in Co.Louth.The whiskey itself has quite a fresh palate, with lemon citrus notes, smoked honey, and toasted oak, turning to green fruits, apple and pears. It's got great depth and a full rounded heated texture. It's a little more earthy than the Islay Malts of Scotland, which makes for a distinctive point of difference.
