Singleton Tailfire Single Malt Singleton Tailfire Single Malt Scotch Whisky

The Singleton Tailfire was released for the Singleton of Dufftown in 2014, alongside the Sunray. A large amount of the whisky was aged in European Sherry Casks, giving plenty of fruit to the whisky.

Classically Speyside, the dram opens with warm raspberries and red apples on the nose, before touches of tobacco notes and red grape. On the palate the berries continue, with touches of caramel and pepper spice before a dry fruity finish.

Singleton Spey Cascade Singleton Spey Cascade

The Singleton Spey Cascade hails from Dufftown distillery, Banffshire is the Scottish Speyside region, matured in both ex-bourbon and ex-sherry casks. The bottling was initially released in 2015 after the success of the Tailfire and Sunray bottlings.

The nose is full of honey, toffee and almonds, while the palate becomes fruitier with baked red apples and cherries, and the finish carries good nuts, salted caramel and plums.

Blackbull 12yr Old Blended Whisky, is a Blended Scottish Whisky produced by Ducan Taylor. The Black Bull 12 Year Old is made using Highland and Speyside malt whiskies matured in refill ex-sherry European Oak butts and refill ex-bourbon American oak hogsheads. The ratio is 50% malt and 50% grain whisky.

The nose of the Blackbull 12yr Old Blended Whisky, is that of some very sweet notes and a little bit of a peat aroma with some sherry notes. There are also notes of some pear and sweet berry aromas. The palate is creamy and buttery flavours. Notes of toffee and fruit flavours are also present. The finish is long with some chocolate and roasted coffee flavours.

Cardhu 12yr Old Single Malt Cardhu 12 Year Old Single Malt

Cardhu 12yr Old, is a Single Malt Scottish Whisky from the Speyside region of Scotland. The company was founded by a Whisky smuggler known as John Cumming in 1824, and is currently run by Diageo. The word Cardhu comes from the Scots Gaelic of Carn Dubh which means, Black Rock. From the companies early beginnings it was ran by Johns wife Helen who used to sell bottles of whisky to passers-by through the window of their farmhouse. A family run business until 1893 when it was sold to Johnnie Walker and Sons, who was later sold to Diageo.

The nose of the Carghu 12yr Old Single Malt, is that of ripe apple and some mild honey notes. There are also some vanilla and wood notes. The palate is that of toffee and vanilla flavours. There are also some undertones of gentle spice and a hint of peaty smoke. The finish is that of some fruit and grain flavours with some enjoyably smoke notes towards the finish.

Glenmorangie Quinta Ruban12yr Single Malt Scottish Whisky comes from the Glenmorangie Distillery in the Highland region. The original Glenmorangie is the base for the Quinta Ruban where it has been finished for 2 extra years in port pipes.

The nose of the Glenmorangie Quinta Ruban 12yr Old Port Cask Finish is that of typical red wine aromas with some blackcurrant and lemon zest notes. There are also some vanilla and fruit undertones such as raspberries, strawberries and cranberries. The palate is that of sweet toffee and cranberry flavours. There are some notes of warm spices and vanilla mixed in to create a complex whisky. The finish has flavours of orange zest and vanilla.

Glenmorangie Lasanta 12 Year Old Glenmorangie Lasanta 12 Year Old

Glenmorangie's Lasanta is a delicate sherry expression, matured at first in ex-bourbon before being moved to Oloroso and Pedro Ximinez casks for a brief finish and bottled at 12 years old. Originally the Lasanta was bottled at 46%, however this has been lowered slightly to 43%.

The nose is light citrus, singed grapefruit and orange peel, with touches of walnuts evident. The palate holds raisins with soft butterscotch and fudge, before the finish shows roasted coffee and dark chocolate.

Glenfarclas 15 is for many the best in the Glenfarclas range (and it is a very good range). Still a family owned distillery, they use mostly ex sherry casks to create a rich, spicy, oily whisky. Direct fired stills, which can give extra oiliness to the new make spirit. The warehouses are traditional dunnage warehouses, which are so cold they offer very little spare spirit for the angels. Bottled at 46% Abv, as this was George Grant's (current youngest generation) grandfathers favourite strength for it.

Glenfarclas is a Speyside whisky distillery located in Ballindalloch, Scotland, owned and run by the Grant family
Glenfarclas 105 is a superb cask strength whisky, with a history that can be traced to 1968. When the original incarnation was released that year, Glenfarclas became the first distillery to release a barrel proof single malt whisky.
The bottling was eventually re-named to 105, referring to its alcohol content in British Proof, which equates now to 60% ABV.
The 105 doesn't carry an age statement presently, making it rare among Glenfarclas bottlings, it is matured in a combination of both ex-sherry and ex-bourbon barrels.

Ardbeg Corryvreckan Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky, is a Single Malt Scottish Whisky produced at the Ardbeg Distillery located on the island of Islay. The distillery itself was founded in 1815 and has had a rocky history, the 80s and 90s saw the distillery suffer closings and shockingly limited periods of distillations of small batches which were intended for blends.

On the nose the Ardbeg Corryvreckan Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky, it leads with dry peat smoke, with some buttery, sweet vanilla and mint leave aromas. The palate is sweet with a light smoke, sea salt, touches lemon cake, and a hint of smoked bacon. The finish has layers of toffee, smoke and cinnamon.

Glenfiddich 18yr Old, is a Single Malt from the Glenfissich Distillery in Dufftown, Scotland. The distillery is owned and produced by William Grant & Sons. Glenfiddich Whiskies serves as king of the non-peated sinlge malts in Scotland. The 18 year old has been matured in Spanish Oloroso and American oak casks.

On the nose the Glenfiddich 18yr Old Single Malt, has notes of light floral aromas, with some malty, grassy aromas mixed in. The palate is that of sweet, warm caramel and cinnamon flavours. There are also hints of dark fruit flavours, such as blackberries and dates. The finish is that of of fruit and slight nuttiness.

Glenfiddich 21yr Old Reserva Rum Cask Finish, is a Single Malt produced in the Glenfiddich distillery in Dufftown, Scotland. Glenfissich is the world's best selling single malt whisky. When this whisky was first released in 2002, it was called Havana Reserve, this though posed a problem when exporting to the US as they have an embargo on Cuban products, even second hand. The name was than changed to Reserva in 2016. It has been aged for 21 years in American bourbon barrels and spent four months in selected rum barrels from the Caribbean.

On the nose of the Glenfiddich 21yr Old Reserva Rum Cask Finish, is that of sugar molasses and toffe aromas. There are also some notes of brown sugar and coffee. The palate is that of leather and tropical fruits, such as banana and melon. The finish is that of some leather and sweet flavours, that make for a long complex finish.

Glenmorangie Signet Glenmorangie Signet

Glenmorangie Signet is a Single Malt from the Glenmorangie Distillery located in Ross-shire, Scotland. The distillery boasts to have the tallest stills in Scotland, standing at 26 feet 3 inches tall. The recipe for this particular whisky is unknown but what we do know is that some of the components are whisky that have been distilled over 30 years ago, and also some of the whisky as been aged in virgin oak casks. One of the biggest components with regards to the taste is that use of "chocolate malt" which is malted barley that has been exposed to a high temperature essentially roasting it as you would coffee.

On the nose of the Glenmorangie Signet is that of dark chocolate and roasted walnut aromas. There are also hints of coffee beans and dark fruits such as dates and raisins. The palate is contains baking spices and black liquorice flavours. There are also some nutty flavours such as walnuts and roasted almonds. The finish has a slight citrusy flavour mixed in with some spices.

This particular Laphroaig 25 year old release won Best Cask Strength Single Malt at the IWSC Awards in 2011. The release at Cask strength made a considerable difference to this whisky and it has now solidified it's place as one of the best Peated Single Malts ever released.

The palate of this whisky is one of the most complex in Islay Malts. There are notes of signature Laphroaig coal dust, smoke, seaweed, and woodsmoke which you might expect from older Laphroaigs. But, they are followed by big shared sweetness, almost jammy fruits, balanced by the spice, and saltiness of it's backbone. An incredible whisky!
