Cragganmore 12yr Old Single Malt
Cragganmore 12yr Old is a Peated Single Malt from the Speyside region in Scotland. The distillery was founded in 1869 by John Smith on land leased from Sir George MacPherson-Grant. What makes Cragganmore unique is the shape of the stills as they have a flat top and are relatively short. The still shape has a definite effect on the taste and aroma of the whisky. The whisky has been aged in 2nd fill bourbon barrels for 12 years, and is lightly peated.
On the nose the Cragganmore 12yr Old Single Malt, has some honey and fruit aromas, such as pears and melons. There are also some aromas of nuts and heather. The palate has notes of dried cherry, honey nuts, with some smoke and leather notes are evident. There is a nice mix of smoke and tobacco on the finish.
