Old Pulteney 12 Year Old Single Malt, is a 12 Year Old Single Malt from Wick in Scotland.The town itself is rich in maritime history once known for its herring fisheries and the distillery's opening coincided with this boom in the fishing trade. The nose of the Old Pultney 12 Year Old Single Malt, is that of smoky and sweet aromas. There are also notes of nutty, toffee aromas. The palate has flavours of citrus peel and dark chocolate. The finish is that of a long warm hug. Great for a cold, rainy night (so every night in Ireland).
Laphroaig 10 year old Single Malt is a Peated Islay Single Malt, and one of the most recognisable brands in the world of whisky, if you mentioned Peat, chances are, someone will mention Laphroaig.The nose is dominated by salty peat, sea air, and medicinal notes. The palate then allows elements of citrus fruits to come through, pear & lemon, this is surrounded by those salty, briny, seaweed notes from the nose. Talisker 10 year old is one of Diageo's Classic Malts, and it is made at the Talisker distillery, which was for a long time, the only distillery on the Isle of Skye.The nose and palate of Talisker 10 year old are filled with smoke, oak and spice. There are some rich fruit notes present, with a lingering sense of smouldering heather, and malt spices. A favourite among many heated Malt whisky drinkers.
Springbank 10 year old Single Malt, is made at the Springbank distillery in Campbeltown, a small seaside town on the east coast of Scotland. This distillery is one of the few to perform 100% of production on site, from Floor Malting to Bottling.This whisky is one of the very best entry level whiskies from any distillery in Scotland. Lightly peated and matured in a selection of ex-bourbon and ex-sherry casks, it exposes some of the best elements from each variable on the palate. Notes of peat smoke, brine, citrus fruits, nutmeg, and cinnamon all present throughout the palate. There is a fantastic warmth to this whisky which brings it's it to a long satisfying finale.
Bowmore Vault Edition First Release, is a Single Malt Scotch whisky from the Bowmore distillery on the isle of Islay in Scotland. It is one of the oldest in Scotland and is said to have been established in 1779. The distillery is owned by Morrison Bowmore Distillers Ltd, a holding company owned by Japanese drinks company Suntory. The distillery was established in 1779. This whisky was launched in November 2016. This series explores four of the essential characteristics of Bowmre whisky after maturation in the legendary No.1 Valuts. For this whisky they have chosen the Atlantic Sea Salt notes. The ones to come will explore peat smoke, vanilla sweetness and citrus fruits. The nose of the Bowmore Vault Edition First Release Single Malt Scotch, is well balanced with some notes of vanilla and sweet lemon and orange aromas. There are some notes of sea spray and light wood smoke. The palate is oily with some maritime flavours. There are some undertones of salt and citrus notes, with some iodine and earty smoke flavours. The finish is that of touches of ginger and mixed fruits. This whisky has done exactly what it says on the bottle, with the sea-slat notes clearly present, mission accomplished Bowmore.
Octomore 07.3, is a peated Scottish Whisky from the Bruichladdich Distillery on Islay. It is the second release from the Bruichladdich peat releases. This whisky is edition 07.3 and has been made from barley grown only 2 miles along the coast from the distillery at the oOctomore farm. It has been matured in ex-bourbon barrels and also in Spanish wine cask of Ribera del Duero.The nose of the Ocotmore 07.3, has of course a hot of peat smoke, which is followed by aromas of lemon cheescake. There are also hints of jam, toffee and vanilla. The palate is that of a rich sweetness combined with peat smoke. Flavours of peach and melon emerge, while there is also hints of mint and thyme. Sea salt and peat on the finish make this an incredibly well rounded whisky.
This particular Laphroaig 25 year old release, won Best Cask Strength Single Malt at the IWSC Awards in 2011. The release at Cask strength made a considerable difference to this whisky, and it has now solidified it's place as one of the best Peated Single Malts ever released.The palate of this whisky is one of the most complex in Islay Malts. There are notes of signature Laphroaig coal dust, smoke, seaweed, and woodsmoke which you might expect from older Laphroaigs. But, they are followed by big shared sweetness, almost jammy fruits, balanced by the spice, and saltiness of it's backbone. An incredible whisky!
Laphroaig 25 Year Old, is a Scottish Single Malt from the Laphroaig Distillery on the Isle of Islay in Scotland. It is a hightly sought after cask strenght expression of Laphroaig's celebrated 25 year old. The 2013 bottling was awarded the title "Best Cask Strenght Single Malt" at the International Wine and Spirits Competition. The whisky is matured in ex-bourbon and ex-Sherry casks and comes in at 45.1% ABV. A must buy for any Islay Whisky fan.
