Glendalough Double Barrel
Glendalough Double Barrel, is produced for the Glendalough Distillery located in Wicklow. The double barrel whisky is a step in a different direction, its made up for corn and malted barley, matred for just over 3 years in ex-bourbon barrels with 6 months in ex-oloroso sherry casks.
The aromas from the Glendalough Double Barrel, are that of figs, dates and apricot. There are also some sweet vanilla and toffee aromas. The palate is that of spice, red berries and sweet caramel. There are also some cinnamon and coffee flavours mixed in. The finish is that of hot spice and vanilla.
Kilbeggan Single Grain Irish Whiskey
Kilbeggan Single Grain Irish Whiskey is produced by the Kilbeggan Whiskey Distillery locate in Westmeath. The mash bill consists of 94% corn and 6% malted barley matured in ex-bourbon barrels before being finished in various fortified wine casks.
The nose of the Kilbeggan Single Grain Irish Whiskey is that of coconut and vanilla aromas. There are also notes of tropical fruit and summer red berries. The palate has flavours of hazelnut and light spice. Undertones of oak tannins and biscuit flavours. The finish is fruity, such as glazed cherries and lingering spice.
Method & Madness Single Grain
Method & Madness Single Grain, is a Single Grain Whiskey from the Midleton Distillery in Cork. The whiskey has first been matured in ex-bourbon barrels and then for 12 months finished in virgin Spanish oak casks from Galicia.
On the nose Method & Madness Single Grain, has a sweet vanilla aroma which draws you into the whiskey and makes you want the whole bottle! (nearly). There are also hints of spice and nutmeg. The palate is that of baking spices, such as cinnamon and clove with flavours of tropical fruit which hit the back of your mouth. The finish is long and well-balanced with a lovely creamy smooth finish.
Clonakilty Single Grain Bordeaux Cask Finish
Clonakilty is a new distillery located on the west coast of Ireland, on the Wild Atlantic Way which continues its hugely popular Cask Series with an 8 -9 year old Single Grain which has been matured in selected Bordeaux Casks. Finished in County Cork,Whilst they wait for their own spirit to mature they are sourcing premium whiskey and finishing it at their Atlantic Ocean warehouse in interesting casks. This process allows the whiskey to absorb both the colour and sweetness of the Bordeaux giving flavours of strawberries, honey and wood spice.
Fercullen 10yr Single Grain
Aged in white oak barrels for over ten years, the Fercullen 10 Year Old Single Grain is then recasked into fresh bourbon barrels. The result is a light, balanced, subtly sweet, whisky that can be enjoyed at any occasion.
Notes of citrus and oak on the nose leads to a complex fruity palate and a long, sweet vanilla finish.
